01 Coco Movie Night

5:30 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

Have a special family night out, and start it with the showing of the popular Disney/Pixar movie Coco. Let the whole family explore the Museum halls looking for alebrijes (painted animal figurines) on a black light guided tour. 

02 Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini 

at Granada Theatre

Take a good look at Puccini’s shimmering classic that has been captivating audiences for over a century. Set on the hills above the Nagasaki harbor in Imperial Japan, the well known Madama Butterfly is a window to a world of opposing cultures and values.

03 Santa Barbara Chowder Fest

1 pm at Carriage and Western Arts Museum of Santa Barbara

Try out the  best local chowders, wines, beers and more at the 10th Annual Santa Barbara Chowder Fest. Chowder fest is a charity cook-off benefit for the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County. Join the crowd and cheer on the area’s best chefs and restaurateurs vying for bragging rights of “Best Chowder in Santa Barbara.”

04 Amazing Scavenger Hunt Adventure

9 am at 1 Garden St.

Get a team of five together and enter the Amazing Scavenger Hunt Adventure. Think of a scavenger hunt and city tour rolled into one from your smart phone. Lots of fun guaranteed. 

05 Willy Wonka Jr.

Have a delicious adventure of Roald Dahl’s mysterious Chocolate Factory as Marymount’s cast light up the stage singing and dancing to songs from the 1971 hit film. This musical is sure to be a scrumdidilyumptious experience for the whole family.

06 Dance Theatre of Harlem

07 Stand Up Paddleboard Lesson

10 am at Santa Barbara Adventure Company 

This is one of the fastest growing ocean sports, and you should give it a try! Experience incredible views of the city, mountains, and ocean while enjoying a great total body workout. 

08 Santa Barbara Surf Film Festival

at Arlington Theater

Join the comprehensive celebration of surf filmmaking to honor the diverse storytelling styles of filmmakers, fans of the genre can “drop in” for movie screenings, special filmmaker panels, Q&A sessions, surf exhibits, parties and more.

9 Sharing Chumash Culture

12 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

Enjoy a celebration of Chumash culture and participate in an event that shares the diversity of the Chumash tribes, singing, dancing, storytelling, basket weaving demonstrations, crafts, games, and much more! Admission is free. 

10The Met: Massenet's "Manon" 

2 pm at Music Academy of the West 

Experience Massenet’s tale of passion, excess, and consequences, performed by rising star soprano, Lisette Oropesa, in the effervescent title role. An appearance from Tenor Michael Fabiano who is her ardent admirer, Chevalier des Grieux, and Maurizio Benini conducting Laurent Pelly’s enchanting production.

11 Private Charter with Captain

Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

Take a pick of your yacht size and The Santa Barbara Sailing Center will provide you with a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. Experience the fun and magic of sailing along the Santa Barbara pristine coastline for a few hours, or a whole day. Feel free to help sail the yacht. 

12 Danish String Quartet

7 pm at Granada Theatre

Santa Barbara’s music lovers and the world has been captivated by the “warmth, wit, beautiful tone and technical prowess second to none” (NPR) by the Nordic lads and fierce friends. They will return with a spirited concert featuring the Danish National Girls Choir. 

13 Seaside Bike Tour

10 am at Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

An enjoyable Santa Barbara bike tour that is designed to show the beauty of coastal Santa Barbara. Ride along on the coastal bluffs amongst Eucalyptus groves, watch the surf, and see quaint neighborhoods and orchards.

14 Alfredo Ramos Martinez: On Paper

6 pm at 1298 Las Positas Road, Santa Barbara 

Alfredo Ramos Martínez (1871–1946) spent his formative years immersed in the artistic life of Paris. He returned to Mexico in 1910 on the eve of the country’s Revolution. He became the director of the famed Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and established the nation’s first open air schools and encouraged his pupils to create work that captured observations of daily life.

15 Taste of Santa Barbara Tour

16 Santa Barbara County & Beyond Exhibit

3 pm at Wildling Museum of Art and Nature

Santa Barbara County & Beyond: Recent Photographic Landscapes by George Rose will be featured in an exhibit of his vineyard photos that have been used in numerous publications and calendars throughout the world of wine. He devoted a lot of his time in documenting the natural environment as well as top vineyard estates up and down the coast of California.

17Finch & Fork Chamily Meal

6:30 pm at Finch & Fork at the Canary Hotel

The Finch & Fork and Executive Chef Peter Cham invites everyone to gather around their table for an evening that takes you back to Chef Cham’s Cambodian roots. It will be a multi-course, family-style dinner featuring traditional Cambodian cuisine served alongside truly great company.

20 Lindsey Stirling

8 pm at Arlington Center for the Performing Arts

Listen to an evening of music from the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling. She will be stopping in Santa Barbara for her Warmer in the Winter Christmas Tour in support of her highly successful holiday albums Warmer in the Winter and Warmer in the Winter: Deluxe Edition. 

21 Jasper String Quartet

10 am at Location Varies

The winner of the prestigious CMA Cleveland Quartet Award, Philadelphia’s,  Jasper String Quartet is the Professional Quartet in Residence at Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musicians. They are hailed as “sonically delightful and expressively compelling” (The Strad) and The New York Times named their latest album, Unbound, as one of the 25 Best Classical Recordings of 2017.

22 Art Exhibition at Mosto Crudo

23 A Celebration of Joni Mitchell

8pm at Lobero Theatre  

Join a rocking tribute to the most iconic singer-songwriter of the Woodstock generation. Mitchell is known to millions with her nearly 40-year career that spanned genres from contemporary folk to jazz to full-throated pop-rock.

24 Chris Fossek Solo 

7pm at Soho

Santa Barbara native, Chris Fossek will perform a solo guitar performance. His debut album, Camino Cielo, reached critical and popular acclaim. This performance will be seated and dinner is required for purchase.

25 Horseback Riding Day Trips

27 Miramar Tree Lighting

6 pm at Rosewood Miramar Beach

Experience a magical tree lighting ceremony that will mark the arrival of the season. This is no ordinary affair, as the magnificent tree will tower 60 feet over the Great Lawn with the Pacific Ocean on the horizon. Featuring over 5,000 sparkling lights and graceful boughs decked with 2,500 ornaments each.

28 Thanksgiving Day Pumpkin Smash 

10 am at Santa Barbara Zoo

This is going to be a smashing’ good time. All animal lovers are encouraged to get the kids out on Thanksgiving Day to venture out to the Santa Barbara Zoo for one of the seasons most entertaining events. Crate a new Thanksgiving Day tradition from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., watching gorillas, otters and other Santa Barbara Zoo animals play and interact with pumpkins.

29 Jim Brickman, A Christmas Celebration

at Lobero Theatre

30 Annual Tree Lighting Event

3 pm at Four Seasons Resort

Come and be a part of the annual tradition of lighting of the beautifully decorated, 15-foot Christmas tree that continues this year. Celebration will start early at the first ever Holiday Night Market where local vendors and purveyors showcase their top gift items of the season.
