05 Virtual Comedy with Jason Love

06 Wizarding Science

07 Parallel Stories

Parallel Stories goes virtual in an online launch for Santa Barbara resident and Museum literary partner Sameer Pandya and his debut novel “Members Only.” Join via Zoom for a reading and conversation between Pandya and the novelist Ivy Pochoda as they discuss this irreverent, tense, and sly novel.

09 Small Format american Paintings

at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

 Browse through the selection of small format paintings that is a reminder of the breadth of the Museum’s holdings in this area. Oil and brush conjure the illusion of near and far persuasively, from the close perspective of still life, to the life-size proportions of bust portraiture, to sublime expanses of land and sky. 

10 Picnic in the Park

at Santa Barbara

Picnic in the Park offers free, nutritious meals to children who receive free or reduced-priced lunches during the school year over the summer months and will run between June 8 and August 7.

11 Santa Barbara French Festival

11 AM at Oak Park

Join the celebration of Bastille Day at the 32th Annual French Festival. Known as one of Santa Barbara’s favorite, celebrating the resilient, rich and entertaining French Culture. Enjoy great food, wine, mimosas, crepes, delicious pastries, music, dance and of course, the infamous Canine Cavalcade.



12 In The Meanwhile

Over 40 artworks will be featured in a variety of media, including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, and sculpture. The majority of the objects are on view at SBMA for the first time. These include painted works on paper by emerging artists acquired through the recently established Basil Alkazzi Acquisition Fund.

15 Stand Up Paddle Boarding

at Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Stand-up paddle board (SUP) rentals is also being offered at the Santa Barbara Sailing Center. They built a special launch pad just for stand-up paddle boarders. You can launch directly from their dock to explore the Santa Barbara Harbor, Stearns Wharf, East Beach and beyond.

16 The Goleta Kelp Reef Restoration Project

7 PM at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

This Fish Reef Project, named Goleta Kelp Reef Restoration Project, aims to create 220 acres of offshore reef systems with manufactured fish reef units and quarry rock. By doing this process, it will give kelp a place to attach, grow, and kick off the recovery of kelp forests and critical habitats for many forms of marine life, including sea otters. 

17 A Retrospective- Virtual Viewing

 at Wildling Museum of Art and Nature

A Retrospective opened las April 5, 2020, 4 – 6 p.m. and will be showcasing 20 works spanning two decades of exhibitions representing one work for each year of the Wildling Museum’s history. The exhibition is on view from April 5 – September 7, 2020.
