01  New Years Day Silent Disco 

11:00 am at Leadbetter Beach

Stretch, dance and move into positive intentions for 2020 with Divinitree and Yoga Dance Magic. Experience a flow yoga class mixed with free form, non-choreographed dancing on the beach to awesome tunes.

02 Wine and Cupcake Tour

10 am at 34 E Haley Street

Indulge into some tasty treats and wine. Head on to the Santa Ynez tour. Featuring delicious sampling of wine infused cupcakes from Enjoy Cupcakes in the heart of Santa Ynez wine country.

03 Harbor Kayaking

10 am at 32 E Haley St 

Experience the American Riviera from a unique perspective. Take a journey which will walk you through the harbor, along beautiful beaches, past sea lions and kelp forests and around the historic pier. And if you’re lucky enough, dolphins and whales may be spotted swimming along this section of the coastline.


04 Chamber Music Project

7:30 pm at Lobero Theatre

A night that combines wildly different musical languages and types of collaboration between violin and piano. It’s a showcase of a rare and special selection in Ferruccio Busoni’s Sonata no. 2 for violin and piano.

05 Shark Sundays

Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center

What’s more fun than touching a shark? Feeding one! Help our staff and volunteers feed the sharks and rays at Shark Cove. Learn about shark biology from our experts as they make sure the animals in this habitat are healthy and satisfied. Included with Sea Center admission. Shark Cove program takes about 30 minutes. If you have time, follow along with staff as they feed other animals. 

06 Wine and Chocolate Pairing

1 pm at  Jamie Slone Wines Tasting Room 

Experience the premium Santa Barbara County Wines paired with delicious chocolates from the local French Chocolatier Jean-Michel of Chocolates Du CaliBressan. Your 60 minute seated experience will take place in the Jamie Slone Wines Private Reserve Room that is located at the Historic El Paseo in the Presidio Neighborhood, downtown Santa Barbara.


07 After School Multimedia Class

3:30 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

Its an inspirational and an exploration of artists' use of and the relationship between colors in works of art. Students will experiment with the power of color as they paint, draw, print, sculpt, and create installation works. 

08 Tatsuo Miyajima

11am at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

The first solo U.S. museum exhibition of Japanese artist Tatsuo Miyajima’s art in over two decades, this captivating immersive presentation of four light-based works embodies this internationally renowned artist’s career-long philosophy: Keep Changing, Connect with Everything, Continue Forever. Reflecting millennia-old precepts found in his Buddhist practice, Miyajima ingeniously creates silent, vividly glowing objects and installations from today’s industrially-produced LED numbers and computer technologies that evoke profound and infinite worlds of being, space, and time.

09 Winter Adult Ceramics

6 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Art

This course is for students of all skill levels. You will be able to develop and refine both sculptural and functional techniques of ceramics through hand building, throwing, surface decoration, and glazing techniques. Crafts and handmades are inspired by works of art in the Museum’s permanent collection and current exhibition


10Carrillo Comedy Night

8 pm at Carrillo Recreation Center 

Laugh out with LA's best comedians for an evening of fun and laughter. Every act is a professional headliner with national TV credits like America's Got Talent, The Tonight Show, and Netflix.

11 Seaside Bike Tour

10:00 am at Santa Barbara Beach

Join the daily Santa Barbara happening tour, designed to show the beauty of coastal Santa Barbara! Designated guides will be with participants throughout the whole tour, offering some natural history talks along the way. The biking experience aims to be a refreshing physical challenge that will inspire, awaken, and bring the group together. Intermediate level of difficulty is to be expected.

12 Arroyo Beach Clean Up

10 am at 2981 Cliff Drive Santa Barbara

Love to take care of the ocean and environment? the team needs you! Help clean up the marine debris and meet the team at the Watershed Resource Center at 10:00 am to sign in.

13 Emanuel Ax, Piano

8 pm at Lobero Theatre

Listen to amazing tunes from the well known Emanuel Ax, who has been awarded five Grammy® for Best Chamber Music Performance for his collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Jaime Laredo, Isaac Stern and Richard Stoltzman.

14 Farmers Market Foodie Stroll

3 pm at Bouchon Santa Barbara

Join the Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market for an informative “Foodie Stroll” followed by dinner at Bouchon. Guests can meet the Chef at the Market, select ingredients, meet the farmers and enjoy food conversations with Chef. 

15 Santa Barbara International Film Festival

at 1528 Chapala St

Santa Barbara’s red carpet is back at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF), January 15 to 25, 2020. Experience the Oscar contenders and the industry’s best gather for 11 days of film screenings, celebrity tribute events, panel discussions and star-studded parties.

16 Origami Deconstructed

6 pm at Museum of Contemporary Art

Its a different kind of drawing through touch! Design paper with your hands “origami-style” and leave the studio with your own deconstructed paper sculptures, origami drawings, and photos.  A tour of the exhibition is included in the workshop.

17 Outstanding Performers of the Year Award

at Arlington Center for the Performing Arts

This year, the Tony Award winner Scarlett Johansson and Tony and Academy Award nominee Adam Driver will receive the Outstanding Performers of the Year Award for their critically acclaimed work in Noah Baumbach’s MARRIAGE STORY.  The film was released in theaters and on Netflix December 6, 2019.


18 Virtuosos Award

at Arlington Center for the Performing Arts

The first wave of recipients to receive the Virtuosos Award presented by UGG®, have been announced. Created to recognize a select group of talent whose noteworthy performances in film have elevated them into the national cinematic dialogue is where this award was inspired of.

19 Channel Island Getaways

at Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Explore the majestic Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary with a US Coast Guard Captain aboard in one of the fantastic cruising yachts. They do offer pre-planned trips that you can customize to fit your needs for everyone's convenience.


20 Amazing Scavenger Hunt

10 am at 1 Garden Street

Partake and Turn Santa Barbara into a giant game board with this fun scavenger hunt adventure. Feel the excitement of the Amazing Race with a fun 2-3 hour exploration of the waterfront and the city.

21 Cinema Vanguard Award Honoring Laura Dern

at Arlington Center for the Performing Arts

Two-time Academy Award® nominee, Emmy and Golden Globe winner, Dern has touched audiences and critics alike with her moving and heartfelt performances. Currently starring in two of the biggest films of the year Netflix’s Marriage Story and Sony’s Little Women, Dern has also won four Golden Globe Awards with seven nominations, as well as earned a Primetime Emmy Award and seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations.  On television, Dern was most recently seen as Renata in the second season of HBO’s "Big Little Lies," which aired on HBO this past summer. 

22 Maltin Modern Master Award

8 pm at Santa Barbara Museum of Art 

Brad Pitt is the one who is set to receive the prestigious Maltin Modern Master Award at the 35th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. It takes place on Wednesday, January 22nd for his long standing contributions to the film industry, most recently gracing the silver screen in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood from Columbia Pictures and Ad Astra for New Regency. 

23 Stand Up Paddleboard Lesson

10 am at  32 E Haley St   

Experience one of the fastest growing ocean sport! Stand up paddling allows guests to experience incredible views of the city, mountains and ocean whilst you are enjoying a great total body workout. A guide will  be with you while you explore the local coastline and learn more of Santa Barbara’s rich marine environment.

24 The Eve Project

8 pm at Granada Theatre

The Martha Graham Dance Company exemplifies all that she stood for and keeps her spirit of ingenuity alive by showcasing Graham masterpieces and new works inspired by her legacy. Known as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century – and a graduate of Santa Barbara High School.


25 Makers Market

at Paseo Nuevo

Support high quality events for local artisans and small business owners and give them a platform to display and sell their unique one of a kind products.

26 Snow Leopard Festival 

10 am at Santa Barbara Zoo

Kids can go and sled down the Zoo’s “mini-Himalayan” mountains while parents “chill,” and Santa poses for photos at this annual festival celebrating snow leopards.


27 Mountains To Shore Bike Ride

10 am at 32 E Haley St

Love biking? so do we. Join this bike ride that is great for all skill levels. Ride your way through some of the area’s most loved locations including the Santa Barbara Mission.a biking talk and riding demonstration will also be made available.


28 Black Violin 

7pm at Granada Theatre

Join this  one-of-a-kind mash-up of classical, hip hop, rock and R&B with a message, the classically-trained string duo Black Violin – Kev Marcus (violin) and Wil B (viola) – fuses the sounds of today with classical virtuosity.


29 Taste of Santa Barbara Tour

11 am at Santa Barbara

An intimate  food walking tour that you should not miss!Have a personal and up close look into the local food scene.Featuring six different shops and restaurants, where you get the opportunity to taste and experience the best dishes which makes Santa Barbara the great dining destination that it is.

30 Private Charter with Captain

at Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Spend a few hours or a whole day aboard our yachts! You pick the yacht size and The Santa Barbara Sailing Center will provide you with a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. Your private group (6 passengers maximum) will experience the fun and magic of sailing along the Santa Barbara pristine coastline. You can simply enjoy the views or feel free to help sail the yacht.

31 100 Grand Exhibition

at 11 East Anapamu Street
