01 Mermaid Book Launch

5pm at Paradise Found

Discover Mermaid Dreams, a unique undersea picture book for children of all ages. Get a chance to meet and greet  the creators, award-winning author Janet Lucy, and award-winning author and illustrator, Colleen McCarthy-Evans. Light refreshments will be provided.

02 Discover Dinosaurs in the Wild

10 am at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

Come face-to-face with dinosaurs on the banks of Mission Creek. See a Tyrannosaurus rex, the formidably armored Stegosaurus, high-crested Parasaurolophus, and Triceratops and Ankylosaurus mamas with their young. Hand-crafted moving animatronics spark the imaginations of dinosaur-lovers of all ages.

03 El Paseo Wine and Photo Tour

12:00 PM at Santa Barbara

Take a stroll along the cobblestone pathways, and discover a few travel photo tips from your pro tour guide. Improve your story telling photo skills just by using your smartphone’s camera app. Listen to the city’s early history and interesting stories about the winemakers and local wine industry.

04 Old Spanish Days Fiesta

All Day at Downtown Santa Barbara

The 5-day party, begins July 31 – August 4, 2019. Starting off with La Fiesta Pequeña — the little festival, to be held on the steps of the Old Mission Santa Barbara, with traditional flamenco and folklorico dance performances.

05 Mandala Workshop

10am at Glenn Dallas Gallery 

Fond of creating a Mandala? Create yours while listening to calming music. Learn more of the history of mandala, color theory and lucid dreaming at this Saturday morning workshop. Participants will get to create and take home their own 10X13 mandala. Such a great activity for families to experience together. 

06 Lionel Richie

7:30 pm at Santa Barbara Bowl

The Santa Barbara Bowl is proud to announce that the legendary Lionel Richie will be with everyone on August 6, 2019. During the course of his musical career, he’s sold over 90 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. Its a chance that you should not miss! Grab this special opportunity to see Lionel Richie live at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

07 Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class

9:00 am at Rosewood Miramar Beach

Everyone is welcome to participate. Come and nourish your body and mind by enjoying a blissful yoga experience set directly on the sands of Miramar Beach. A highly qualified team of instructors for a balance-restoring Vinyasa Flow yoga session will be with you as you enjoy the sounds of the Pacific Ocean and taking in the warmth of the sun. 

08 Concerts in the Park

6:00 PM at Chase Palm Park

Dust off your dancing shoes, pack up a picnic dinner, and tag along with your friends and family. Celebrate summer and some great free music concerts in Santa Barbara’s beautiful Chase Palm Park. Enjoy the music and savor the view along the gorgeous Santa Barbara waterfront. 

9 Free Summer Cinema

Santa Barbara County Courthouse

The UCSB Arts and Lectures’ Summer Series goes back to the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens. Every Friday,  you can bring your friends and family to set up a blanket to watch a movie under the stars, all happening in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara. For this year’s theme, it's Those Fabulous Fifties.

10 Makers Market 

10 am at Paso Nuevo Shops and Restaurants 

This event is presented by Blissful Boutiques. Shop through the local Santa Barbara artisans and makers every Saturday, from May thru Dec. in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. The Makers Market is located in De la Guerra Place at State Street. 

11 Rum Raiser

4:00 pm at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

Featuring rum drinks and tastings by Real McCoy Rum, Black Bart Navy Rum, and Goleta Red Distilling Company on SBMM’s scenic harbor-front patio. This is done in celebration of SBMM’s Rum Running, Sailors & Prohibition exhibit. 

12 Art Exhibition at Mosto Crudo

11am at Mosto Crudo

Appreciate the beauty of many artworks on display and sale by visual artist Alphonso Acosta (an “emerging artist” from Society 805 magazine in 2014), happening from June 2019-Dec. 2019. Find the perfect canvas for your home, for a gift, or for yourself. 

13 Farmer's Market Foodie Stroll

3 pm at Bouchon Santa Barbara

Join an informative “Foodie Stroll” followed by dinner at Bouchon, where participants rendezvous with Chef at the Market, select ingredients, meet the farmers and enjoy food conversations with Chef.  Relax and enjoy your evening afterward.

14 Yappy hour at The Set

Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

$2 off draft beers and $3 off well cocktails await you and your pooch at The Set patio. Your pups will also be given complimentary dog biscuits and water. Happening during weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. You must be 21 years or older.

15 Butterflies Alive

10 am at Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

Get surrounded with nearly 1,000 live butterflies which flutter freely on you. The exhibit will feature a dazzling variety of butterflies, from local favorites to exotic tropical varieties. 

16 Seaside Bike Tour 

10 am at Santa Barbara Sailing Center 

An enjoyable Santa Barbara bike tour that is designed to show the beauty of coastal Santa Barbara. Ride along on the coastal bluffs amongst Eucalyptus groves, watch the surf, and see quaint neighborhoods and orchards.



17 Cat Power Wanderer Tour 2019

8 pm at 33 East Canon Perdidio Street 

A very well known songwriter, producer, and most notably—singer— who has only grown more influential with time, will be performing at the Lobero Theater. Wanderer is a collection of winding, wondering narratives all perfectly imbued with the kind of yearning and warmth that has made her one of the most distinctive and beloved artists of her generation. 

18 Sea Glass and Ocean Arts Festival

10 am at Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

The Festival is bound to happen on September 14-15, 2019 but you don't need to wait for that long. The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) in the Harbor will be hosting a Sea Glass PopUp and “sneak preview” on August 18, between 10:0am-5:00pm. Have a small taste of what September’s Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival is like and get ready for a fun day of beautiful sea glass collections, learn information about the Festival, and watch out for a new sea glass educational display in the Museum.

19 Cupcakes and Wine Tour

10 am at 32 E Haley St Santa Barbara  

Indulge in some tasty treats and wine. Head on to the Santa Ynez tour featuring delicious sampling of wine infused cupcakes from Enjoy Cupcakes in the heart of Santa Ynez wine country.

20 Music at The Ranch

5:30 pm at  304 N. Los Carneros Rd. Goleta 

Enjoy some food trucks, wine, and beer, all while dancing under the trees. Enjoy live music, performed by Amber and Smoke. Dance the night away while catching up with friends and enjoying tacos. Fun for the whole family.

21 Creekside Country Night

8 PM at 4444 Hollister Avenue

Hosted by Skip Stecker every Wednesday night is Creekside Country Night. Its a night filled with Country and a mix of contemporary music for a $5 cover charge, starting with dance lessons at 8:30 pm for an additional $5. 

22 Looking Inward

11 am at 10 West Anapamu St. 

The 10 West Gallery will be featuring nine Santa Barbara area artists: Iben G. Vestergaard, Stuart Ochiltree, Rick Doehring, Penny Arntz, Mary Neville, Patrick McGinnis, Courtney Rochelle, Emily Van Horn, and Karen Lehrer. Browse through Abstraction, a journey inward where artists express a concept, narrative or non-objective composition, rather than looking outward to express what they see, such as portraiture or landscapes. 


23 Sunset Boulevard

8:30 pm at Anacapa St. Santa Barbara 

Set up a blanket to watch a movie with the whole family under the stars, in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara. Filmgoers may begin setting up on the lawn at 12 noon on the day of the Courthouse screenings.

24 Pacific Pride Festival

Laguna Street Santa Barbara

This free event celebrates and reunites a diverse crowd of nearly 4,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+), ally supporters, and their families from the Central and South Coast. Featuring a line-up of live entertainment, exhibitors, local food, informative non-profits, activities, and community member support. 

25 Santa Barbara Triathlon

7 am at Santa Barbara

Join an event that delivers unique distances, an event site to die for and a vibe that is both fun and friendly. There will be an unparalleled variety of course options to choose from, and every participant gets a T-shirt, finisher medal, lunch and more.


26 The Summer of Comedy

7 pm at 28 Anacapa St.

The widely known Brass Bear Comedy Night is going outside. Have an enjoyable night with comics seen on Netflix, Fox, Showtime, HBO, City Hall and more under the stars. There will be a new headliner every show. It's also a surprise who will drop in to do a set. There's nothing better than a Californian summer with some Monday night laughs. The event is free and for all ages. However, the content may not be suitable for everyone.

27 Private Charter with Captain

Santa Barbara Sailing Center

Choose your yacht size and The Santa Barbara Sailing Center will provide you with a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. Experience the fun and magic of sailing along the Santa Barbara pristine coastline for a few hours or a whole day aboard and feel free to help sail the yacht.

28 Taste of Santa Barbara Tour

11 am at State & Victoria Streets

Experience the culinary offerings in an intimate food walking tour of the mid-State Street area of downtown Santa Barbara. Have a closer and personal look into the local food scene. Tour will have stops for tastings at six different shops and restaurants, where you taste and experience the best dishes and best restaurants that make Santa Barbara the great dining destination it is.

29 Public Speakers Community Meet Up

6 pm at 351 Paseo Nuevo

Build a successful public speaking business or share your knowledge and message to make a big impact in the world. Join this training that is based on modules of Speakers Marketing Mastery, one of the world’s most comprehensive trainings on how to become a world-class speaker and build a successful public speaking business.

30 Movie Night 

6 pm at Montecito Country Mart

Share a night with a friend and enjoy some popcorn for an outdoor movie. A screening of classic and modern kids movies will happen at the Courtyard. The movies will be held between Vons and Union Bank. On August 30th, it's Winnie The Pooh!

31 Studio Artists Tour

11 am at 1324 State Street

The 18th Annual Open Studios Tour, will be featuring the works of 45+ studio artists, along with exclusive access to the artists in their studios. One of the oldest and most prestigious event of its kind on the Central California Coast, drawing national and international collectors, decorators, and gallery owners for a weekend devoted to viewing and purchasing exceptional art.
